History

Sueste was born in Ferragudo, by the river, in a former salt warehouse that first became a tavern and later the restaurant it is today.

From the beginning, the idea was simple: serve freshly grilled fish with respect for the produce, local tradition and the time spent around the table.

Over the years, Sueste grew in both space and offering, becoming a well-known reference in the Algarve.

We are what we have always been. The meeting point of the Atlantic and the Arade, whose waters bring life to this coast. We are Sueste.

Ferragudo

Ferragudo has always lived closely connected to the sea. Between fishing boats, narrow streets and the calm movement of the Arade, a village grew where eating fresh fish is simply part of everyday life.

In the early years, people came for the aroma from the grill and stayed for the welcome they received.

What Remains the Same

In 1998, the restaurant was expanded to welcome more guests while preserving the original character of the building and its surroundings.

More than three decades later, Sueste remains true to its family spirit and its connection to the Arade River. A warm welcome and fresh seafood continue to be at the heart of the house.

Shall we save you a table?
